WinnCompanies CEO Gilbert Winn was honored last week by the Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corp as part of the CSNDC’s 35th anniversary celebration. I was honored to attend the event alongside numerous other company community leaders. WinnCompanies and CSNDC have partnered for 25 Years together, managing 20 properties with more than 900 units.
CSNDC is deeply involved in economic development through affordable housing and commercial projects. They are the driving force behind transit oriented development along the Fairmont MBTA line. Their award-winning green initiatives in the neighborhood and community organizing show their loyalty to the people of this community. Some of the ways CSNDC gives back include voter drives, job fairs, youth programming, including after-school tutoring, summer programs, and financial literacy.
A special thank you to Executive Director, Gail Latimore, Deputy Director, Marcos Beleche, Director of Real Estate, Beth O’Donnell, and Asset Manager, Drew Vernalia. Also to the Codman Board members, Vice President at Trinity, Kenan Bigby, Facilities Management at UMass, Boston, Nathan Cooper, and attorney with Noble & Wickersham, Boston, Julie Taylor.
Key WinnResidential Staff that should be recognized include Regional Vice Presidents, Hector Cruz and Mike Cosgrove, Senior Property Manager, Paula Andrews, Senior Maintenance Manager, Jim Giusti, and Senior Maintenance Superintendent, Matthew Murphy.
Codman is WinnCompanies' 5th largest nonprofit client in the nation (by units) and 3rd largest nonprofit client in Massachusetts. The CSNDC and WinnCompanies relationship is a true example of friendship and partnership, whether it’s new deals from the ground-up, taking on problem properties to stabilize neighborhoods or working together to deliver turkeys and all the fixings during the holidays. Here's wishing CSNDC 35 more years of great partnership in community building!
