I like to say that over the course of our 48-year history, WinnCompanies has done well by doing good. Community involvement and creating opportunities through targeted investments are enmeshed into the fabric of our organization and I take great pride in the fact that we have long been ahead of the curve with regards to corporate citizenship.
Three years ago, WinnCompanies released its first annual Corporate Social Responsibility report, detailing employee volunteer initiatives, socially-conscious business practices and philanthropic contributions that positively impact the communities where we operate.
I am now pleased to share with you our 2019 Corporate Social Responsibility Report, a glimpse of WinnCompanies’ charitable activities that took place during 2018, including:
The delivery of the largest community solar project in Washington, DC;
The groundbreaking of the first mixed-income veterans-preference housing community in the United States, and;
The establishment of an apprenticeship program where young residents of low-income communities in Boston can learn facilities maintenance skills.
This year’s report was designed by a talented young artist with Artists for Humanity, a Boston-based non-profit organization that connects youth with paid freelance opportunities that showcase their artistic and creative talents.
I am truly humbled by the positive work of our team members and grateful to be a part of an organization whose social conscious is so strongly linked to our identity.
